Progress Update: The Neverland Wars

It’s surreal, how far I’ve come on this project since the summer when I began seriously working on the first draft of my novel, The Neverland Wars. I am immensely fond of my characterization of Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Mr. Smee, and the Lost Boys.

Writing, for me, is a co-creative process between myself and my characters. I can’t count how many times they have surprised me, changed the direction of my story, and become so much more than I originally dreamed.

Hook plays a larger role in the story that I thought he would. The Darling children do as well, particularly John Darling and Wendy. Wendy, who I originally did not like, is becoming a fierce young woman that my younger self would have been proud of.

I’ll be sharing a weekly progress update so you can follow along in my writing journey! Thank you for your support and interest, it means so much to me.
